Answer:

a. 10 buns or 10/12

b. 8 buns or 8/12

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to make the denominator into 12 since thats how much is in a dozen

5/6 of a dozen is also 10/12 (multiplied numerator and denominator by 2)

2/3 of a dozen is also 8/12 (multiplied numerator and denominator by 4)

it takes one fourth of a gallon of paint covers one fifth of a car how much paint covers the whole car
Komok [63]

Answer:

The volume of paint that covers the whole car is 1\frac{1}{4} gallons or one and a quarter gallons.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the volume of paint required to cover whole car be 'x'.

Given:

Volume of paint to cover one-fifth of a car = one-fourth of a gallon.

We use unitary method to determine the volume of paint required.

∵ One-fifth of a car requires paint = \frac{1}{4}\ gal

∴ Whole volume of car requires paint = \frac{\frac{1}{4}}{\frac{1}{5}}

=\frac{1}{4}\times \frac{5}{1}\\=\frac{5}{4}\\=1\frac{1}{4}\ gal

Therefore, the volume of paint that covers the whole car is 1\frac{1}{4} gallons or one and a quarter gallons.

Maria walks at a rate of 3 meters per second on a moving walkway traveling at a speed of 1 meter per second in the opposite dire
sasho [114]
When you set up equations like this, look at the units for help. They cancel out during division and multiplication like numbers to give desired quantities. Rates can be reversed if need be (3 meters/sec or 1/3 sec/meter).

time × (distance / time) = distance
See.. time/time = 1;  leaving distance

Subtract the rate of the opposing walkway...
t × (3 m/s - 1 m/s) = d
2t = d

Answer is then A.

Which expression is equivalent to 19x − 6x + 2 and why? 15x, because 19x − 6x + 2 = 13x + 2 = 15x 11x, because 19x − 6x + 2 = 19
andreyandreev [35.5K]
So,

All of the options look so ridiculous that I will not bother discussing why they are not equivalent.

However, one option works.
"2 + 13x, because (19x - 6x) + 2 = 13x + 2 = 2 + 13x"

If you simplify the original expression, you will get 13x + 2.  And the only option that is the closest is 2 + 13x, which is the same as 13x + 2, according to the Commutative Property of Addition.
