The opposite sides of parallelogram are equal in length, so we can infer that :

  • BC = AD

now, let's solve for value of x :

  • 9x - 4 = 6x + 14

  • 9x - 6x = 14 + 4

  • 3x = 18

  • x = 18 \div 3

  • x = 6

we have to find the measure of AD,

  • 6x + 14

Plugging the value of x as 6 :

  • (6 \times 6) + 14

  • 36 + 14

  • 50

The Correct option is D. 50

Parallel sides of parallelogram are equal in length

\\ \sf\longmapsto AD=BC

\\ \sf\longmapsto 6x+14=9x-4

\\ \sf\longmapsto 9x-6x=14+4

\\ \sf\longmapsto 3x=18

\\ \sf\longmapsto x=6

AD=6x+14=6(6)+14=36+14=50

Option D

Point E is located at (-2, 2) and point F is located at (4,-6). What is the distance bewtween points E and F?
Hoochie [10]

\bf ~~~~~~~~~~~~\textit{distance between 2 points}\\\\(\stackrel{x_1}{-2}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{2})\qquad(\stackrel{x_2}{4}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{-6})\qquad \qquadd = \sqrt{( x_2- x_1)^2 + ( y_2- y_1)^2}\\\\\\d=\sqrt{[4-(-2)]^2+[-6-2]^2}\implies d=\sqrt{(4+2)^2+(-6-2)^2}\\\\\\d=\sqrt{6^2+(-8)^2}\implies d=\sqrt{100}\implies d=10

Which of the following statements best describes the graph of x + y = 4?
vaieri [72.5K]
The last one is the only one that will work.
For the first one the y intercept is when x = 0. The point would be 0,4

The second one gives a point of (4,0)

The third one is nonsense. (4,4) is not on this line.
