Are the tables proportional why and why not
Lana71 [14]

Answer:

The first table is proportional

Step-by-step explanation:

The first table's equation is y=8x. That is proportional because the equation is followed throughout the whole table.

The second table is not. You cannot just add 1 more per every column. So, the second table is not proportional.

A cylinder has a diameter of 10 decimeters. What is the length of the curved surface?
shepuryov [24]
The length of the curved surface is the circumfrence of a circle with radius r = 10/2 = 5 decimeters.

Length of curved surface = 2π x 5 = 10π ≈ 31.4 decimeters.

Find the volume of this cylinder.<br> Give your answer to 1 decimal point
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

1330.5 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of a cylinder is: V = πr²h

Substitute the values for those variables.

V = π(5.5)²(14)

V = π(30.25)(14)

V = 1330.5

What is the enlargement ratio if you enlarge the figure to have a width of 16 units and length of 12 units
Fantom [35]

Answer:

The enlargement ratio is 3:4

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given

a width of 16 units and length of 12 units

so,

W=16

and

L=12

now, we can find enlargement ratio

we can use formula

enlargement ratio = (length)/(width)

=\frac{L}{W}

now, we can plug values

=\frac{12}{16}

now, we can simplify it

=\frac{3}{4}

So,

The enlargement ratio is 3:4

Find the directional derivative of f(x,y,z)=2z2x+y3f(x,y,z)=2z2x+y3 at the point (−1,4,3)(−1,4,3) in the direction of the vector
Feliz [49]

f(x,y,z)=2z^2x+y^3

f has gradient

\nabla f(x,y,z)=2z^2\,\vec\imath+3y^2\,\vec\jmath+4xz\,\vec k

which at the point (-1, 4, 3) has a value of

\nabla f(-1,4,3)=18\,\vec\imath+48\,\vec\jmath-12\,\vec k

I'm not sure what the given direction vector is supposed to be, but my best guess is that it's intended to say \vec u=15\,\vec\imath+25\,\vec\jmath, in which case we have

\|\vec u\|=\sqrt{15^2+25^2}=5\sqrt{34}

Then the derivative of f at (-1, 4, 3) in the direction of \vec u is

D_{\vec u}f(-1,4,3)=\nabla f(-1,4,3)\cdot\dfrac{\vec u}{\|\vec u\|}=\boxed{\dfrac{294}{\sqrt{34}}}
