Good citizens normally welcome immigrants if they come to work and contribute their knowledge to the country. However, if the country is in a labor crisis, they will certainly not be happy to have immigrants coming to take their jobs. Finally, progressives want there to be no borders which would jeopardize national security, national stability and national culture preservation.
