The part of the neuron that detect mechanical and chemical stimuli is the Dendrites.

The nervous system is a system that controls all the activities of the body for example voluntary or involuntary activities.

The cells of the nervous system is known as the neurons.

The different parts of neuron include:

  • Dendrite
  • Axons
  • Cell bodies

Dendrites are part of neurons that protrudes from the cell body which specialises in bringing in information( impulses) into the cell.

This is because it contains receptors that contains ion gated channels that detect mechanical and chemical

stimuli.
