Explanation: The fourteenth amendment of the United States was made after the Civil war and adopted in July 1868 in other to address issues relating to the rights and protection of citizens of the State. The Civil War which ensued due to the enslavement of the Blacks lasted for about four years. Passage of the fourteenth amendment afforded equal civil and legal rights to all persons naturalized or born in the United States. The are all citizens and should no the same judicial treatment, abolishment of slavery and withdrawal of preferential treatment under the Supreme law or that of their state of residence.
