Pakistan though had an eastern and western part. These two parts were separated by over 1,000 miles, thus they were very far away from each other. On top of that, the eastern and the western part had totally different cultures. This resulted in the eastern part to try and separate itself and form its own nation. This was done through the Liberation War, which was a very bloody one, but eventually it achieved the goal of Eastern Pakistan to become an independent nation. Once independent, the newly formed nation changed its name into Bangladesh, which has remained the name of the nation ever since.
