You are using the equation 4(p – 7) = 44 to determine how many pictures can be saved at one time to the photo stream on your cel

l phone. Describe the operations in the order that you will perform them to solve the equation.
(i have the solution, but i don't really understand the question, it feel like i need some explanation or something.....i don't know. Cause it ask me "what is p" on next question so i don't really understand what should i do on this question.....please help...)

Answer:

p = 18

Step-by-step explanation:

4(p-7) = 44

The operations in order are to distribute first, 4p - 28 = 44

Isolate the variable, 4p = 72

and divide for the answer, p = 18

P stands for pictures, the number of pictures that can be saved to your photo stream at once is 18.

For the figures below, assume they are made of semicircles, quarter circles and squares. For each shape, find the area and perim
Marina86 [1]

Area of the shaded region $=36(\pi -2) square cm

Perimeter of the shaded region =6 (\pi + 2\sqrt 2) cm

Solution:

Radius of the quarter of circle = 12 cm

Area of the shaded region = Area of quarter of circle – Area of the triangle

                                             $=\frac{1}{4} \pi r^2 - \frac{1}{2} bh

                                             $=\frac{1}{4} \pi \times 12^2 - \frac{1}{2} \times  12 \times 12

                                             $=36\pi -72

                                             $=36(\pi -2) square cm.

Area of the shaded region $=36(\pi -2) square cm

Using Pythagoras theorem,

AC^2=AB^2+BC^2

AC^2=12^2+12^2

AC^2=288

Taking square root on both sides of the equation, we get

AC= 12\sqrt 2 cm

Perimeter of the quadrant of a circle = \frac{1}{4} \times 2\pi r

                                                             $=\frac{1}{4} \times 2 \times \pi \times 12

                                                             $=6 \pi cm

Perimeter of the shaded region = 6 \pi + 12\sqrt 2 cm

                                                    =6 (\pi + 2\sqrt 2) cm

Hence area of the shaded region $=36(\pi -2) square cm

Perimeter of the shaded region =6 (\pi + 2\sqrt 2) cm

Choose True or False for each statement.
madreJ [45]

Answer:

1) True

2) True

3) False

4) True

Step-by-step explanation:

1) You can compare irrational numbers using rational approximations

The above statement is true as given two irrational numbers which can be expressed in decimal format, by rounding up the numbers to a certain number of decimal places, the values of the irrational numbers will be different

2) Square roots can be compared and ordered by comparing and ordering the numbers underneath the radical symbol

The above statement is true as the the values of the numbers under the radical symbol are directly proportional to the square root

3) You cannot compare the value of rational and irrational numbers

The above statement is false because the value of an irrational number can be found between two rational numbers. Therefore, the value of an irrational number is higher than the rational number that precedes it on the left of a number line

4) The closer the numbers being compared, the more decimal places you need to use

The above statement is true as a higher level of detailed value of the numbers being compared will be required given the closeness in value of the numbers being compared.

lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:

3 \frac{1}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that Sally picked 6 2/3 pounds of apples, which can be converted into an improper fraction: 20/3. Multiply 20/3 and 1/2. You will get 20/6, which is 3 1/3. Hope this helped :D
