Answer:

1) x = 25

2) 2(25)+5 = 55

-12<= x < 6

x <2 and x <= -7

Step-by-step explanation:

1) x

2) 2x + 5

x + 2x + 5 = 80

3x = 80 - 5

x = 75/3

x = 25

-24 <= 2x - 10

-24+10 <= 2x

-14/2 <= x

-7 <= x

2x -10< -6

2x < - 6 + 10

x < 4/2

x < 2

1) Let L = the larger # and S = the smaller #.

A large # is 5 more than twice a smaller #.....This gives Eq 1) L = 5 + 2S

Their sum is 80...This gives Eq 2) L + S = 80.

Substitute Eq 1) into Eq 2), you get

L + S = 80

5 + 2S + S = 80

3S = 75

S = 75 / 3 = 25

L = 5 + 2S

  = 5 + 2(25)

= 5 + 50

 = 55

The speed of a bus from university a to university b was increased by 20% to 48 miles per hour. what was the speed of the bus fr
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer:

The speed of the bus is 40mph.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that increase in 20% causes the bus to drive at 48mph. In order to find the original speed, we can assume that the original speed is 100% :

100% + 20% = 48mph

120 % = 48mph

1% = 0.4mph

100% = 40mph
