Notre Dame is considered a masterpiece for many reasons. Masterpieces are beautiful works of art, and this cathedral certainly is as well. First, the cathedral has many important Gothic elements, including pointed arches and flying buttresses. Next, the enormous stained glass rose windows are very impressive. In addition, the sculptures on the outside of the building are extremely detailed.
