Tanya is saving for a vacation. She wants to have at least $75 for each of the 12 days of her trip. If she saves $85 each month

for 10 months, will she save enough for money?
Use the strategy of mental math to find the total amount she will save. Then write a division equation to see if she will save enough.

Jorge says he can solve this problem a different way. He says that he can compare 85 * 10 and 75 * 12. Do you agree? Explain your thinking.

Answer:

a) No, she will not save enough

(couldnt figure out how to make it a division equation, sorry!)

b) yes, i agree. if you were to multiply (75x12) and (85x10) and subtract the equation of (75x12)-(85x10), you would be given the answer of 50. 75x12 is 900, 85x10 is 850, 850 is less than 900, showing that Tanya would not make enough money.

words from me

part B is explaining how i solved part A since i did it jorges way, good luck with the division and i hope i helped a bit! this took me 30mins haha

Step-by-step explanation:

mental math? nah we use calculators and pretend we did it mentally

explaining

tanya needs atleast $75 for each of 12 days. she wants to save $85 each month for 10 months.

we need to discover if she will make enough money

solving A (ended up being jorges way, but this is how to solve part A)

first,

75x12 = 900

that means tanya needs a total of $900 for her trip

next,

85*10 = 850

this shows tanya will be short $50 and wont make enough for her trip

answer A

No, she will not save enough

answer A part 2

honestly to me its impossible to write this as division so good luck with that part, sorry!

Answer:

x = 3 renders the same output for both functions

Step-by-step explanation:

From the graph, we see that at the point x = 3 both lines intersect. This means that their y value coincide for that value of x.

We check using the functions' expressions to verify that our answer is correct. Then we evaluate both functions separately at x = 3:

f(3)= -\frac{2}{3} (3) + 1 = -2 + 1 = -1\\g(3) = \frac{1}{3} (3) -2 = 1-2 =-1

So we conclude that effectively, the input x=3 produces equal output value (-1) for the two given functions.

Sara makes a cuboid having sides 15cm and 30cm .how many such cuboids will be needed to form a cube
zhuklara [117]

cuboid=3*3*5 [i.e l*b*h]

LCM of 3,5=15

i.e 15cm is the dimension of the final cube.

therefore cuboid required across length=15/3=5

similarly, across breadth=15/3=5

similarly, across height=15/5=3

Therefore total no of cuboid=5*5*3=75
