Based on sign of x and y coordinates, the four quadrants can be described as follows:

Quadrant I : x positive and y positive

Quadrant II : x negative and y positive

Quadrant III : x negative and y negative

Quadrant IV : x positive and y negative

The coordinates of the post office are (2,3)

Here both x and y are positive.

We are given four options,

(-3,1)

(-2,4)

(1,5)

(-2,-3)

Out of these option third (1,5) have both x and y positive and so it is in same quadrant as that of post office.

Answer : option third (1,5)

1,5 would be in the same quadrant because of the double positive

A dozen fidget spinners cost 9.60 what is the unit rate of the spinners
Serggg [28]
80 cents. To find the unit rate you need to know how much 1 fidget spinner costs, when all the fidget spinners cost the same amount. To this you have to divide 9.6 (total cost) by 12 (total # of fidget spinners). You get .8 (the cost of 1 fidget spinner).

How to solve 10-3(3x-40)=-9x
vichka [17]
Simplifying 10 + -3(3x + -40) = -9x

Reorder the terms: 10 + -3(-40 + 3x) = -9x
10 + (-40 * -3 + 3x * -3) = -9x
10 + (120 + -9x) = -9x

Combine like terms: 10 + 120 = 130 130 + -9x = -9x

Add '9x' to each side of the equation. 130 + -9x + 9x = -9x + 9x

Combine like terms: -9x + 9x = 0 130 + 0 = -9x + 9x 130 = -9x + 9x

Combine like terms: -9x + 9x = 0 130 = 0

Solving 130 = 0
Couldn't find a variable to solve for. This equation is invalid, the left and right sides are not equal, therefore there is no solution.

How many miles students ran 6 or more miles?
Nastasia [14]
Based on the key the number under the stem column is a whole number mile and the number under the leaf column is a decimal ( partial mile)
so for students that ran more than 6 miles, count the numbers under the leaf that are next to 6 or higher
, there is 3 next to 6, 2 next to 7 and 2 next to 8
so there were 3 +2 +2 = 7 students that ran more than 6 miles
shortest run: 4.3
