No because it’s a subtraction problem. If we want to make this true we would have to do the inverse application which is addition to make it x+2

How do I figure this problem out 2x+23=92
Pepsi [2]

2x+23=92

Move +23 to the other side.

Sign changes from +23 to -23.

2x+23-23=92-23

2x=92-23

2x=69

divide both sides by 2 to get x by itself

2x/2=69/2

Cross out 2 and 2, divide by 2 and then becomes 1*1*x=x

Answer:

x=69/2 and x=34.5 and x=34 1/2

Solve the differential equation by variation of parameters.<br><br> y''+y=secx
suter [353]

Answer:y=

Acosx+Bsinx +cosx ln(cosx)+x sinx

Step-by-step explanation:

given  equation y''+y=secx

auxiliary  equation

p^2+1=0\\p=\pm i

so CF is y=Acosx+Bsinx

now

y_1(x)=cosx \ \ \ \ y_2(x)=sinx\\{y_1}'(x)=-sinx \ \ \ \ {y_2}'(x)=cosx

using wronskian formula

W=\begin{vmatrix}cosx &sinx \\ -sinx & cosx\end{vmatrix}

          =cos^2x+sin^2x=1

now f(x)=secx

u=-\int \frac{f(x)y_2(x)}{W(x)}dx \ and \ v=\int \frac{f(x)y_1(x)}{W(x)}dx

u=-\int \frac{secx\times sinx}{1}dx \ and \ v=\int \frac{secx\times cosx}{1}dx

u=-\int tanx dx \ and \ v=\int {1}dx

u=ln(cosx) \ \ \ and \ \ v=x

now particular integrals are

PI=cosx ln(cosx)+x sinx

total solution

y= C.F+P.I

y=Acosx+Bsinx +cosx ln(cosx)+x sinx

Zack, Jack and Sasha earned £250 altogether delivering leaflets.
AleksAgata [21]

Answer:

Zack earned £125, Jack earned £75, and Sasha earned £50

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering the number of leaflets delivered

Zack 50%, Jack 30% and Sasha 20%

Total delivered = 50 + 30 + 20 = 100%

If they earn £250 on the 100% delivery, then each will have as shown below

Zack = (50/100)*250

= 5*25

= £125

Jack = (30/100)*250

= 3*25

= £75

Sasha = (20/100)*250

=2*25

= £50
