Why do you believe that the Americans were successful in winning their independence from the British in the 1780s? Explain reaso

ns why the British lost and the Americans won the war. What new responsibilities did America now have as an independent nation?

Answer: They got help from other countries like France and Spain.

Explanation: Because of the seven years war countries like France and Spain were still mad at Britain and took the colonists side to see Britain fall. With the help from other countries the colonies pulled through and won. This was not easy, at valley forge was a place of suffering and grit to fight for independence.

America had the responsibilities of bringing their states together since the states were so used to Salutary Neglect. (Chill/ Laid back enforcement of law) The states were off doing their own thing so it was hard to pull together and work like a nation. Some states had their own money currency so it made it harder to get a set in stone currency for the new nation.

The Marshall plan was to help build up Western European nations due to the fact that communism spreads easiest in poverty stricken war torn countries. Then to make it worst Europe is a collective of several countries that are closest to America’s borders from the Atlantic, so to further containing communism in the east, they had to solidify the Democracy in the west.
