In "Thank You, M'am" what similarly between roger and Mrs.Jones does mention?
evablogger [386]

Answer:

Both Roger and Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones are African Americans, who share similar backgrounds and come from poor homes. Through Roger's comments, one can surmise that he comes from a broken, poverty-stricken home, where he is forced to provide and take care of himself, which explains why he is dirty, hungry, and desperate for money. After Mrs. Jones drags Roger back to her home and makes him a warm plate of food, she explains to Roger that she understands what it feels like to want something that she cannot afford. Mrs. Jones then admits that she too made poor decisions in her youth and committed crimes that she is not proud of, which is another similarity that she shares with Roger. However, she does make it a point to say that she never snatch anybody's pocketbook before. Mrs. Jones's shared race and socioeconomic background allow her to sympathize and bond with Roger, who respects and appreciates her kindness and benevolence.

Summarize Ben Roger’s sounds and movements in lines 20-44. Identify the phrases that best help you picture what he’s doing.
Likurg_2 [28]

This is the introduction of Ben Rogers in the story of Tom Sawyer. Ben Rogers is another boy of Tom's age in the story who is tricked, first, in completing the whitewash task of Tom given by his aunt.

Explanation:

This part of the story where Tom starts to white wash the fence and waits for someone to pass by so as to trick them into completing the task given to him.

These lines describe how Ben Rogers is, as a person, very light and soft at heart. His expectations on life and its take on him are very high, as though he can climb mountains in a second. His signature was to 'hop-jump'.

The lines where he is shown to be bouncing all the time while he is walking, show us that his carefree, naturally high on environment and life make us understand that he is unlike Tom.

He is also very playful, dramatic and willingly notorious in his introduction. The description of his action while he is crossing Tom shows us that he enjoys little things in life more than what is expected and is happy about what he has got.

The <em>below lines from the chapter, depict his character:</em>

<em>"He was eating an apple, and giving a long, melodious whoop, at intervals, followed by a deep-toned ding-dong-dong, ding-dong-dong, for he was personating a steamboat. As he drew near, he slackened speed, took the middle of the street, leaned far over to starboard and rounded to ponderously and with laborious pomp"</em>
