which man's murder kicked off the Lincoln County War Billy the Kid LG Murphy John Tunstall William Morton
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:KID ANTRIM DID NOT ride across New Mexico Territory by himself. On October 2, 1877, he was spotted with a gang of rustlers on the old Butterfield Overland Mail route in southwestern New Mexico’s Cooke’s Canyon. Once again he had made a bad choice of associates—although as a fugitive himself, he had few options. The leader of the outlaw band, which liked to call itself “The Boys,” was Jesse Evans. Evans was approximately six years older than the Kid, and he stood five feet six inches tall, weighed around 140 pounds, and had gray eyes and light hair. Pat Garrett wrote that of the two, the Kid was slightly taller and a little heavier. Evans’s early history is as hard to pin down as Henry McCarty’s. At different times, he claimed both Missouri and Texas as his birthplace. He may have been the Jesse Evans who was arrested with his parents in Kansas in 1871, for passing counterfeit money. Tried before the U.S. District Court in Topeka, this Jesse was convicted and fined $500. Because he was so young, he received no jail time and was “most kindly admonished by the court.”

The excerpt below comes from a speech given by William Jennings Bryan in 1896:
natka813 [3]

Answer:

Answer is D

Explanation: The statement that best explains Bryan’s reason for giving the speech is to convince Americans to support the expansion of the money supply and use silver not only gold.

On July 8, 1896, William Jennings Bryan delivered the speech called “the Cross of Gold”, as part of the Democratic National Convention.

Moments of the speech such as “You shall not press down upon the brow of labor this Crown of thorns, you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold”, were severe critics to the gold as the only form of currency. After the speech, he was nominated for the presidency

Under the Mandate of Heaven, how would Heaven show that an emperor was not being a good leader?
Lostsunrise [7]

Answer:

An important element of the mandate was that although the ruler had been given great power he also had a moral obligation to use it for the good of his people, if he did not then his state would suffer terrible disasters and he would lose the right to govern.

Explain ONE specific historical example that refutes the claim made by Jared Diamond.
Olin [163]

Answer:

Agriculture helped in achieving a better standard of living.

Explanation:

Jared Diamond argues that crowding led to spread of diseases and infections among people. However, when agriculture was first discovered and established, societies and villages started to shift towards a better standard of living. Societies and villages gradually became the centre of all man-made achievements.

From medicines to security, societies started developing various ways of life that helped in preventing sicknesses and diseases, predators, disharmony, etc. Though there were higher chances of spread of diseases, development of medicines and preventive measures quickly responded in societies.
