Your favorite craft store had a weekend sale. On the first day, all $10 items were 70% off. You bought some number of these of t

hese sale items (n) and one $8 item. On the second day, all $10 items were 60% off. You returned and spent the same amount of money as the day before. You purchased a $5 item and an equal number of sale items as the day before (n). How many total sale items did you purchase and how much money did you spend at the craft store during the sale? For the first day we have the following function:
 f (n) = (0.3 * 10) n + 8
 For the second day we have the following function:
 f (n) = (0.4 * 10) n + 5
 You spent the same amount of money as the day before:
 (0.3 * 10) n + 8 = (0.4 * 10) n + 5
 3n + 8 = 4n + 5
 n = 8-5
 n = 3 items
 We evaluate each function for n = 3
 f (3) = (0.3 * 10) * 3 + 8 = 17 $
 f (3) = (0.4 * 10) * 3 + 5 = 17 $
 The total amount of money is:
 17 + 17 = 34 $
 Answer:

you purchase 6 items

you spend at the craft store during the sale $ 34

Maria flips a coin 20 times. The coin only lands on tails 9 times. According to theoretical
guapka [62]

Answer:

1

Step-by-step explanation:

A coin only has two outcomes. Meaning that she has a 50/50 chance of landing on each side. So, 50% of 20 is 10. According to the theoretical  probabilty, the coin would have landed on heads 10 times and tails 10 times. So, for that to be true Maria would have had to land on tails one more time.

4x + 3y = 22<br> 5x - 4y = 43<br> Simultaneous Equation
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Answer:

x = 7

y = -2

Step-by-step explanation:

4x + 3y = 22  ---------------------(I)

5x - 4y = 43 ---------------------(II)

Multiply(I) by 4 and equation (II) by 3. And then add the equations

(I) * 4            16x + 12y = 88

(II) *3            <u>15x  - 12y = 129</u>   {Add & thus y will be eliminated}

                    31x         = 217

x = 217/31

x = 7

Plug in the value of x in equation (I)

4*7 + 3y = 22

28 + 3y = 22

       3y = 22 - 28

       3y = -6

         y = -6/3

y = -2

What is the multiplicative rate of change of the function shown on the graph? Express your answer in decimal form. Round to the
allsm [11]
In linear models there is a constant additve rate of change. For example, in the equation y = mx + b, m is the constanta additivie rate of change.

In exponential models there is a constant multiplicative rate of change.

The function of the graph seems of the exponential type, so we can expect a constant multiplicative exponential rate.

We can test that using several pair of points.

The multiplicative rate of change is calcualted in this way:

 [f(a) / f(b) ] / (a - b)

Use the points given in the graph: (2, 12.5) , (1, 5) , (0, 2) , (-1, 0.8)

[12.5 / 5] / (2 - 1) = 2.5

[5 / 2] / (1 - 0) = 2.5

[2 / 0.8] / (0 - (-1) ) = 2.5

Then, do doubt, the answer is 2.5
