It will take Wanda and Miranda 0.375 hours to be 9 miles apart

Wanda's speed = 6 miles per hour

Miranda's speed = 30 miles per hour

Distance = Speed x time

Find the distance covered by Wanda in t hours

D_{wanda} = 6t

Find the distance covered by Miranda in t hours

D_{miranda} = 30t

Difference in the distances covered

D_{miranda} - D_{wanda} = 30t-6t\\\\D_{miranda} - D_{wanda} = 24t

The difference in their distance is 9 miles

9 = 24t

To find the time, divide both sides by 9

\frac{9}{24} = \frac{24}{24}t\\\\t =   \frac{9}{24}\\\\t = 0.375

It will take Wanda and Miranda 0.375 hours to be 9 miles apart

djyliett [7]

Answer:

4\dfrac{3}{8} cups of flour

Step-by-step explanation:

A muffin recipe, which yields 12 muffins, calls for 2/3 cup of milk for every 1 3/4 cups of flour.

Then this recipe, which yields one muffin, calls for

\dfrac{2}{3}:12=\dfrac{2}{3}\cdot \dfrac{1}{12}=\dfrac{1}{18}

cup of milk for every

1\dfrac{3}{4}:12=\dfrac{7}{4}\cdot \dfrac{1}{12}=\dfrac{7}{48}

cups of flour.

Thus,

this recipe, which yields a batch of 30 muffins, calls for

\dfrac{1}{18}\cdot 30=\dfrac{5}{3}=1\dfrac{2}{3}

cups of milk for every

\dfrac{7}{48}\cdot 30=\dfrac{210}{48}=\dfrac{35}{8}=4\dfrac{3}{8}

cups of flour.

Sample Work Help Needed! Please answer these questions and show the steps used to solve them. NO DECIMAL ANSWERS (except on thre
anygoal [31]

1. Using the exponent rule (a^b)·(a^c) = a^(b+c) ...

\left(-2x^3y^4\right)\left(5x^9y^{-2}\right)=(-2)(5)\left(x^{(3+9)}y^{(4-2)}\right)\\\\=-10x^{12}y^{2}

Simplify. Write in Scientific Notation

2. You know that 256 = 2.56·100 = 2.56·10². After that, we use the same rule for exponents as above.

8 \left(32\times 10^{11}\right)=(8)(32)\times 10^{11}=256\times 10^{11}=2.56\times 10^{13}

3. The distributive property is useful for this.

(3x – 1)(5x + 4) = (3x)(5x + 4) – 1(5x + 4)

... = 15x² +12x – 5x –4

... = 15x² +7x -4

4. Look for factors of 8·(-3) = -24 that add to give 2, the x-coefficient.

-24 = -1×24 = -2×12 = -3×8 = -4×6

The last pair of factors adds to give 2. Now we can write

... (8x -4)(8x +6)/8 . . . . . where each of the instances of 8 is an instance of the coefficient of x² in the original expression. Factoring 4 from the first factor and 2 from the second factor gives

... (2x -1)(4x +3) . . . . . the factorization you require

An urn contains six red balls and four green balls. A sample of seven balls is selected at random.
KIM [24]

There are 10 balls in the Urn Total.

Red: 6

Green: 4

Question One: The probability that five red and two green is selected is likely. (as that is over half for both)

Question Two: Impossible. There is only 6 red balls, and 7 are taken from the urn. Thus it would at most be possible for 6 red and 1 green.

Question Three: At least four is likely, as  there is more red then green in the Urn.

Hope I helped!
