The hiv-1/2 ag/ab immunoassay test identifies the __________ and antibodies that may be present in the blood as early as________
tino4ka555 [31]

The hiv-1/2 ag/ab immunoassay test identifies the P24 antigen and antibodies that may be present in the blood as early as 13 days post exposure .

What is hiv-1/2 ag/ab immunoassay test ?

It is a rapid point care test .hiv-1/2 ag/ab is a solid phase enzyme -linked immunosorbent assay for the qualitative detection of HIV-1 ( P24 antigen) , anti-HIV-1 including subtype O, and anti-HIV-2 antibodies ( including isotype IgG, IgM ,IgA ) in human serum or plasma.

It is the latest generation for the simultaneous detection of the presence of anti -HIV antibodies and HIV antigens . it also helps in the differentiation of HIV-1 from HIV-2 infection .

HIV-1 was discovered first and is more prevalent worldwide , while HIV-2 is less pathogenic and is mostly confined to west africa.

What is P24 antigen ?

P24 antigen is the indication of HIV positive .when you do your hiv test then if it found in blood then your body infected by HIV .P24 is produced 2-3 weeks after infection and before antibodies are produced .

P24 levels are only detectable for the next 1-2 months. P24 levels typically peak just after the onset of ARS symptoms at 2-3 weeks after infection .
