Social media influences many things about political campaigns in the United states. Looking at recent elections you can see many thing happening between the voters to the candidates. Social media is probably the way many votes choose and change their views of voters.

Some positive ways it can affect campaigns and candidates are:

  • Helping candidates bring awareness to certain subjects
  • Making it easier for candidates and votes to interact with each other

Some negative ways it can affect campaigns and candidates are:

  • Spreading false information about a candidate and certain subjects

Social media exposes more problems to to world. If you had no political party you sided with before hoping onto social media even after only a few hours it becomes easier to fall into rabbit holes about parties and you may unconsciously choose a side without even realizing.
