One of the changes to Arkansas economy that could have lessened the effects of the Great Depression and hastened the state's recovery would have been that of diversifying its sources of income. Arkansas relied mostly on agricultural production, and besides this, its industries were extremely limited. This meant that the state was greatly affected by the low crop prices of this time period. It also meant that the many floods and droughts of the time severely affected the economy.
