Pocahontas was a daughter of a Native American chief who lived in Virginia. The story has been told that John Smith had made fri

ends with the chief's twelve-year-old daughter Pocahontas. Later John Smith was captured by Native Americans. Just as he was to be killed by a stone war club in the hand of the chief, Pocahontas ran to him, placed her head on his, and begged her father not to kill him.
Later when a war broke out between Native Americans and the white settlers, Pocahontas was captured. She was put on an English ship.
