dalvyx [7]

Answer:

Paul earned $2.6 more interest than Monica.

Step-by-step explanation:

Giving the following information:

Monica:

Initial investment= $300

Interest rate= 4.2%

Paul:

Initial investment= $400

Interest rate= 3.8%

<u>To calculate the income earned, we need to use the following formula:</u>

I= P*r*t

P= principal

r= interest rate

t= time

Monica:

I= 300*0.042*1= $12.6

Paul:

I= 400*0.038*1= $15.2

Paul earned $2.6 more interest than Monica.

QveST [7]

Answer:

21.6m

Step-by-step explanation:

Brian throws a ball from point 'a'

The ball travels a distance of:

  • 0.6m in the 1^st second
  • 1.2m in the 2^nd second
  • 1.8m in the 3^rd second
  • 2.4m in the 4^th second
  • 3.0m in the 5^th second
  • 3.6m in the 6^th second
  • 4.2m in the 7^th second
  • 4.8m in the 8^th second

The ball travels a total distance of 0.6m + 1.2m + 1.8m + 2.4m + 3.0m + 3.6m + 4.2m + 4.8m = 21.6m from point 'a' to point 'b'.

Please help with composite solid problem!!!
kolbaska11 [484]
Well, we know that the first one is correct because those are the only two shapes up there. The second one is correct because a*b*c is equal to the rectangular prism, while 1/2(a*b*[d-c]) is equal to the triangular one.

Keeping in mind that 1/2*d = c, the third one is also correct because when you simplify the equation, you get
a*b* \frac{1}{2}d -  \frac{1}{2}c + c
a*b* c - \frac{1}{2}c + c
a*b*1 \frac{1}{2}c
This is equal to the volume because the overall height is 2, but since it's a triangular prism, we take away one half. Because it's all multiplication, we can actually arrange all the values. But the point is that the third one is right, too, leaving the last one to be wrong.

So the last one has to be the answer. Whew!
