What two numbers add to 8 and multiply to 28
anygoal [31]
Find numbers that multiply to 28 and add them to see if they add to 8
28=
1 and 28=29 not 8
2 and 14=16 not 8
4 and 7=11 not 8
that's it'
no 2 numbers
we must use quadratic formula

x+y=8
xy=28

x+y=8
subtract x fromb oths ides
y=8-x
subsitute
x(8-x)=28
distribute
8x-x^2=28
add x^2 to both sides
8x=28+x^2
subtract 8x
x^2-8x+28=0

if you have
ax^2+bx+c=0 then x=\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^{2}-4ac} }{2a}
so if we have
1x^2-8+28=0 then
a=1
b=-8
c=28

x=\frac{-(-8)+/- \sqrt{(-8)^{2}-4(1)(28)} }{2(1)}
x=\frac{8+/- \sqrt{-48} }{2}
x=\frac{8+/- 4 \sqrt{-3} }{2}
x=4+/- 2 \sqrt{-3}
x=4+/- 2i \sqrt{3}
there are no real numbers that satisfy this

Suppose the population standard deviation is σ = 5 , an SRS of n = 100 is obtained, and the confidence level is chosen to be 98%
beks73 [17]

Answer:

1.165.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have that to find our \alpha level, that is the subtraction of 1 by the confidence interval divided by 2. So:

\alpha = \frac{1-0.98}{2} = 0.01

Now, we have to find z in the Ztable as such z has a pvalue of 1-\alpha.

So it is z with a pvalue of 1-0.01 = 0.99, so z = 2.33

Now, find the margin of error M as such

M = z*\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

In which \sigma is the standard deviation of the population and n is the size of the sample.

In this problem, we have that:

\sigma = 5, n = 100. So

M = z*\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

M = 2.33*\frac{5}{\sqrt{100}} = 1.165

So the correct answer is:

1.165.

Please help I’m really confused. I will give BRAINLIEST!
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

t = 115

s = 60

g(x) = 10/23x - 10

Step-by-step explanation:

find s first since its easy (it goes up by 10's)

then take a pair from the table that corresponds such as 69 for x and 30 for g(x) and turn them into a fraction:

69/30

do the same for t:

t/50

equal 69/30 to t/50 and solve using cross multiplication:

69/30 = t/50 =

30t = 3450

/30      /30

t = 115

honestly had a little hard time finding the equation but basically I simplified the fraction 30/69 to get 10/23 for slope and then I insert a corresponding x and y value into y= mx+b with the slope value to find b.
