For the safety of everyone inside a vehicle, the driver should place his cellphone inside his bags to avoid being tempted should there be a call or text. He should not place it where it can be visible and highly distracting during driving. Drivers can also hand over their cellphones to a passenger and that passenger will make sure it won't be of any distraction.
