till feared that a federal system would become too powerful. Did the federal government grow too powerful under the Washington and Adams administrations? Some examples of abuses of power could be the alien and sedition acts, Jackson’s veto of the US bank.
The federal gov did a good job at limiting some /most abuses, but the alien and sedition acts were a violation of the bill of right that the anti federalists had advocated for.
