Jim Bob Airlines has one 57 seat plane. On its last five flights it had 44 passengers from MSY to DFW, 49 passengers from DFW to

OKL, 36 passengers from OKL to TUL, 30 passengers from TUL to FWB, and 49 passengers from FWB to MSY. For the last five flights, what was the load factor? (Make sure your answer is accurate to one decimal place)

Solution:

Total number of seats in the plane = 57

From MSY to DFW = 44 passangers

From DFW to OKL = 49 passangers

From OKL to TUL = 36 passangers

From TUL to FWB = 30 passangers

From FWB to MYS = 49 passangers

So the average number of seats filled per flight

                                                                = (44+49+36+30+49) / 5

                                                                 = 208/5

                                                                  = 41.6

For the last 5 flights Load factor = Average number of seats filled per flight / Total number of seats in the plane

= 41.6 / 57

= 0.7298

= 72.9%

So for the last five flights the load factor was 72.9%

Recall our example of an investment of $100,000 in research that yields a pioneering invention that has no commercial value, and
maria [59]

Answer:

Firm A is uniquely situated to the pioneering research and firm B is uniquely situated to application development. There are significant differences arising from broad patent law and narrow patent law. Firm A conducting pioneering research and Firm B conducting development application in this situation the incentive problem is solved when transaction cost is zero. When the transaction cost is zero the breadth of the patent will not matter to the economic efficiency So long as the can bargain with each other. The bargain between inventors is cost-less and makes efficient contracts.

When the transaction cost obstructs the bargaining between the suppliers of pioneering research of and development of application problem arises. The solutions to the problem are lubricating bargaining and allocate rights to the firm who values the most.

Patent protection for the pioneering inventions should be broader for the little standalone value. In contrast patent protection for pioneering invention should be narrower for large standalone value.

Hence the above difference lies in investment from broader patent law and that of the narrower patent law.

Your sister receives the December bank statement (included at end of assignment). You reconcile that statement to your records.
Tanya [424]

Answer:

2. True

Bank charges are the various fees account holders are charged in respect of maintenance of the account along with any other charges incurred in respect of specific transactions (e.g. cheque clearance charges, fund transfer charges, collection charges, etc). Bank charges are charged directly to the customer account thereby reducing the bank balance shown in the bank statement. These charges are usually not recorded by the business until the bank provides the bank statement at the end of a month which is why balance as per bank statement may be lower than the cash book balance.

Anarel [89]

Answer:

has EBIT equal to 3.5 times its interest expense.

Explanation:

The times-interest-earned represent how much pressure the interest expense represent for the firm.

the interest expense affect taxes so we use the earning before taxes and, of course, before interest as well.

Therefore we compare EBIT against interest expense

\frac{EBIT}{interest \: \: \: expense}

A lower than 1 meas the company cannot pay their interest

above 1 menas it can pay them.

Then, is up to each creditor how much TIE is required to allow for lending to the firm
