Hi!

There might be different variations into how anyone would approach this problem but this is by far an easy way for me.

In order to solve fractional relationships with a variable, a perfect way to solve them would be to cross multiply and make them equal to each other.

You see the part '3y+12', and when you criss cross over to the other side of the equation, you get three. Multiply that together.

When you see the part '6', when you glide diagonally, you find '4y'. Multiply this together as well. Make them equal to each other.

(<em>This is how you do cross multiplication.)</em>

You should get something like this:

3(3y+12)=6(4y)              Distribute the three on the left side and multiply. Do the same on the right.

9y+36=24y                    Now, you can combine like terms by subtracting 9y to the other side.

36=15y                           Isolate y and divide it by 15.

y=2.4

I was unclear of the answer, so I plugged in 2.4 into the original equation where the y variable was, and got the right answer, so 2.4 should be the correct one no matter how you got it.

I hope this helped!

What’s the answer ???<br><br> (ONLY ANSWER IF YOU KNOW)
just olya [345]
First, it says to simplify the expression, so you should try that first.

Simplified Expressions:
8y^15 and 36y^7

Then compare on which simplified expression has the greater exponent
8y^15 and 36y^7
8y^15 has the greater exponent

8y^15 = (y^9)(2y^2)^3 (Or the first expression)

The exponents of expression #1 are greater than the exponents of expression #2

In the diagram, StartFraction S Q Over O M EndFraction = StartFraction S R Over O N EndFraction = 4.
Viktor [21]

Answer:

MN and QR should be used to prove that the triangles are similar by the SSS similarity theorem ⇒ 2nd answer

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us revise the cases of similarity:

  1. AAA similarity : two triangles are similar if all three angles in the first  triangle equal the corresponding angle in the second triangle
  2. AA similarity : If two angles of one triangle are equal to the corresponding angles of the other triangle, then the two triangles  are similar.
  3. SSS similarity : If the corresponding sides of the two triangles are  proportional, then the two triangles are similar.
  4. SAS similarity : In two triangles, if two sets of corresponding sides  are proportional and the included angles are equal then the two  triangles are similar.

In Δs MNO and QRS

∵ SQ = 60

∵ OM = 15

- Find the ratio between SQ and OM

∴ \frac{SQ}{OM}=\frac{60}{15}=4

∵ SR = 32

∵ ON = 8

- Find the ratio of SR and ON

∴  \frac{SR}{ON}=\frac{32}{8}=4

∵ MN = 12 units

∵ QR = 48

- Find the ratio between QR and MN

∴ \frac{QR}{MN}=\frac{48}{12}=4

- The ratio between the corresponding sides are equal

∴ \frac{SQ}{OM}=\frac{SR}{ON}=\frac{QR}{MN}= 4

- By using the third case of similarity SSS

∴ Δ MNO is similar to Δ QRS by SSS similarity theorem

∴ You should use sides MN and QR

25/100 in simplest form
Veseljchak [2.6K]
25/100 is 1/4 in simplest form. When you find simplest form of a fraction, divide both the numerator and denominator by something that you can divide both of them evenly by and get whole numbers as a result. In this case, both of them are divisible by 25. After you divide, you get 1/4. Is 1/4 able to be simplified further? No, so 1/4 is the simplest form.
Hope that helped!
