So you're gonna take add 1 to both sides and add aw to both sides also
y+1=2w+aw
then you factorize the w
y+1=w(2+a)
divide 2+a in both sides
y+1/2+a=w
the answer is
y+1/2+a=w

Answer:

w = \frac{1 + y}{a + 2}

Step-by-step explanation:

collect the term in w together → ( subtract 2w from both sides)

y - aw - 2w = - 1 → ( subtract y from both sides)

- aw - 2w = - 1 - y → ( multiply through by (- 1) )

aw + 2w = 1 + y → ( take out w as a common factor )

w( a + 2)= 1 + y → ( divide both sides by (a + 2 ) )

w=\frac{1+y}{a+2}

A flower box is 3 ft. Long, 2 3/4 ft. Wide, and 1/2 ft. Deep. How many cubic feet of dirt can it hold? A. 4 1/8 B. 5 3/4 C. 6 1/
pochemuha

Answer:

The box can hold 4 1/8 cubic feet of dirt

Step-by-step explanation:

What we simply have to find here is the volume of dirt it can take

To get this, we have to multiply the dimensions of the box

We have this as follows

Volume or box = length * width * height

Volume of box = 2 3/4 * 1/2 * 3

Volume of box = 11/4 * 3 * 1/2 = 33/8 = 4 1/8 cubic feet
