er in the scullery was stove in with a kick from Boxer's hoof, otherwise nothing in the house was touched. A unanimous resolution was passed on the spot that the farmhouse should be preserved as a museum. All were agreed that no animal must ever live there. The animals had their breakfast, and then Snowball and Napoleon called them together again. "Comrades,” said Snowball, "it is half-past six and we have a long day before us. Today we begin the hay harvest.” Which quotation from this passage is an example of foreshadowing? “Some hams hanging in the kitchen were taken out for burial, and the barrel of beer in the scullery was stove in.” “The farmhouse should be preserved as a museum. The quotation that is an example of foreshadowing is “The farmhouse should be preserved as a museum. All were agreed that no animal must ever live there”.

Foreshadowing is a literary device that the writer uses to give a hint of what is going to happen later in the story. In this case, the fact that “no animal must ever live there” gives the reader a clue that, at some point, this situation is going to change. Towards the end of the story, the reader learn that Napoleon and the other pigs finish living in the farmhouse that they had prohibited the other animals to live in.

Which technique does propaganda primarily use?
ethos
pathos
logos
davros
avanturin [10]

Among the options, the rhetorical device or technique primarily used by propaganda is:

B. Pathos

The three rhetorical devices as explained by Aristotle are ethos, logos, and pathos.

Ethos appeals to the speaker's authority, logos to logic or reason, and pathos to emotion.

The purpose of those devices is the convince the audience of something.

Propaganda relies primarily on pathos. It tries to evoke an emotion from the audience to convince them to do something.

Secondly, it will use ethos, appealing to authority, to what an expert says.

The last choice will be logos, and it is only used when it supports the other devices.

Think, for example, of war propaganda trying to convince people to go to war. War is not reasonable. Asking someone to die is also quite foolish.

In order to convince someone to do it, propaganda would evoke feelings of rage against the enemy, of love and protection towards one's family, etc.

With that in mind, we can choose letter B as the best option.

Arturiano [62]

Foster states that "The fact is that we can only love what we know personally" and adds that Tolerance "merely means putting up with people, being able to stand things." It has always been human condition to succumb to feelings of love for an activity, family, a significant other and reject what requires tolerance to the new or the unknown. Foster stands up for tolerance as the means of reconstructing and which might unite races and peoples from the world. Love is enjoying people, things, places, a pleasant state. Tolerance, on the contrary, is to try to love what you do not like. There are many an example or situation in our daily life. Foster says that tolerance is wanted in the queue, at the telephone, perhaps when the boy nobody likes in class participates and expresses his opinion. The attempt to tolerate people can make a meaningful difference.
