Let assume
X for ice cream cones
Y for sundaes
X+Y=172
X=172-Y……..*
1.10X+2.35Y=294.20
Substitute * in the above equation
1.10(172-Y)+2.35Y=294.20
189.2-1.10Y+2.35Y=294.20
1.25Y=294.20-189.2
1.25Y=105 divide both sides by 1.25
Y=84
The substitute Y value in * equation
X=172-84
X=88
Therefore
88 ice cream cones and 84 sundaes were sold!!

What is -(7 - 5x) = -2x
anzhelika [568]
Distribute the negative sign to (7-5x) and then you will get -7+5x=-2x. Then you subtract 5x from both sides and you will get -7=-7x. Next you will divide by -7 to get x alone so the answer is x=1

Help ASSAP with this question
mote1985 [20]
(4,4)(-6,4)...notice how ur y coordinates on both of ur points is the same...that means u have a horizontal line with a slope of 0....the equation would be
y = 4.....but in point slope form...not 100% sure

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
slope(m) = 0
using (4,4)...x1 = 4 and y1 = 4
now sub
y - 4 = 0(x - 4) <==

y - y1 = m(x - x1)
slope(m) = 0
using (-6,4)...x1 = -6 and y1 = 4
sub
y - 4 = 0(x - (-6) =
y - 4 = 0(x + 6) <==
