parasympathetic ganglion.

Acetylcholine is the main neurotransmitter found in the parasympathetic

nervous system. Its effects are either excitatory or inhibitory. It is a chemical

which is released by neurons to aid transmission of signals to other cells of

the body.

It helps in the contraction of the muscles, peristaltic movement of the

stomach, as a vasodilator etc.
