Haiku is a type of Japanese poetry that flourished at the dawn of the 1600’s  and it was the opening section of a large poem.

Correct option is B.

The structure of the poems differ in the sense that "Digging" jumps from the present time to the past, while Basho's haiku captures a single moment in time.

In the first poem, called "Digging" there is a clear jump in time within the structure, as the speaker is first set in the present time "till his straining rump among the flowerbeds, bends low..." but then jumps to the past tense when stating "where he was digging."

There is a jump in time to add to the message and story line of the poem. On the other hand, in the poem "The haiku" the author is capturing a singe moment in time, with no time jumps visible.

Mumz [18]

Answer:

Explanation:

Everyone knows about the plague.

The paragraph turns its attention to sweating sickness that has two major outbreaks: 1485 and about 70 years later in 1556. It's a terrifying disease because it acts almost as quickly as a poison. The fact that it could come and go kept people on edge.

We moderns likely do not know what it is and what controls it. Certainly speaking personally, this the first time I've heard of it and maybe that's not a good yardstick. After running across 6000 questions, you might think it would have come up once.

The paragraph you quoted only records two instances. After that people just worried about it. Today only medical historians really know what it is.

I<br> 8. What do Armstrong and Lombard decide about the 2 deaths?
ehidna [41]

Answer:

Armstrong and Lombard decide that the two murders were committed by Mr. Owen and determine to search for him.

Explanation:

'And Then There Were None' is a mystery novel written by Agatha Christie. The novel is a story of 10 people who have been murdered on an island.

In chapter 7, after Mrs. Rogers was found dead, Armstrong and Lombard consult with each other trying to find who committed the two murders. After inspection, they suspected that these murders can not be a mere coincidence. They find that the two Indian figures have disappeared from the board and the two deaths correspond to the first two verses of rhyming.

Armstrong and Lombard, therefore, decides that the two murders were committed by Mr. Owen, the host, and decides to search for him.
