C = 200 – 7x + 0.345x2 find the domain and range of C.

Answer:

Domain: (-\infty,\infty)

Range: [164.493,\infty)

Step-by-step explanation:

The domain is all x-values. Since it doesn't matter what you put in for x, all real numbers work.

The range is all y-values. Since the leading coefficient of 0.345 is positive, this means we need to find the absolute minimum by using the formula x=-\frac{b}{2a} and then determining what C is given the value of x:

x=-\frac{b}{2a}

x=-\frac{-7}{2(0.345)}

x\approx10.145

Therefore:

C=200-7x+0.345x^2

C=200-7(10.145)+0.345(10.145)^2

C\approx164.493 is the absolute minimum

Help- ASAP please (25 points)
Alina [70]

Answer:

(t^2 -4) (t^2 +4)

(t-2)(t+2)(t^2+4)

Step-by-step explanation:

t^4 - 16

We can write this as the difference of squares

We know the dfference of squares is

(a^2 - b^2) = (a-b) (a+b)

( t^2 ^2 - 4^2) = (t^2 -4) (t^2 +4)

We can write t^2 -4 as the difference of squares

t^2 -4 = t^2 -2^2 = (t-2)(t+2)

Replacing this in

( t^2 ^2 - 4^2) = (t^2 -4) (t^2 +4) =  (t-2)(t+2)(t^2+4)

URGENT!!! please help me with these two problems, and solve with statement-reasoning. Thank you!!!
iren [92.7K]

Answer:

See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

By definition the median of the triangle bisects the  base of the isosceles triangle.

We need to prove that the 2 triangles formed by the median are congruent.

If the 2 triangles are ABD  and ACD  where BD is the median and < ABC is the angle from which BD is drawn.

BD = BD  ( the common side)

AD = DC ( because BD is the median).

AB =  AC ( because ABC is  an isosceles triangle).

So Triangles ABD and ACD are congruent by SSS.

Therefore  m < ABD = m <  CBD,  so BD is the bisector of < ABC.

To prove BD is also the altitude:

Triangles ABD and CBD are congruent as we have just proven. Therefore the

of measure of the base angle ABD = m < CBD . Also they are adjacent angles ( on the same line) so they add up to 180.

Therefore angles ABD and CBD are both  right angles and BD is the altitude of triangle ABC.

Can anyone help me? My teacher just recently taught me this today, be he never explained much. The question is in the photo
IceJOKER [234]

You've got five different problems in this photo ... four on top and the word problem on the bottom ... and they're all exactly the same thing:  Taking two points and finding the slope of the line that goes through them.

In every case, the procedure is the same.
If the two points are  (x₁ , y₁)  and  (x₂ , y₂) , then
the slope of the line that goes through them is

                          Slope  =  (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁) .

This is important, and you should memorize it.

#1).  (8, 10)  and  (-7, 14)

         Slope  =  (14 - 10) / (-7 - 8)  =  4 / -15

#2).  (-3, 1)  and  (-17, 2)

         Slope  =  (2 - 1) / (-17 -  -3)  =  (2 - 1) / (-17 + 3)  =  1 / -14

#3).  (-20, -4)  and  (-12, -10)

         Slope  =  [ -10 - (-4) ] / [ -12 - (-20) ]

=========================================

The word problem:

This question only gives you one point on the graph,
and then it wants to know what's the slope ?
What are you going to do for another point ?

A "proportional relationship" always passes through the origin,
so another point on the line is  (0, 0) .

Now you have two points on THAT line too, and you can easily
find its slope.
