Answer:

12 liters

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the solution with 30% acid solution be x litres

And the solution of with 70% alcohol to be y liters

X = Volume of 30% solution in liters

Y = Volume of 70% solution in liters

For acid solution,

30/100 × x = 0.3x

For alcohol solution,

70/100 × y = 0.7y

Since we need 54% of the combination of the 2 solutions: 54/100 = 0.54

The combination of the 2 solutions must give us 54 solutions combination and that is:

0.3x + 0.7y = 0.54(x+y)___ equation 2

X+y = 20_____ equation 1

solve the system of equations and we have:

From equation 2,  x +y = 20

Therefore x = 20 -y

Replace the above in equation 2

0.3(20 - y) + 0.7y = 0.54(20)

6 - 0.3y + 0.7y = 10.8

Collect like terms

0.4y = 4.8

Y = 12 liters and that means 12 liters of 70% alcohol solution

BaLLatris [955]

Answer:

20,158 cases

Step-by-step explanation:

Let t=0 represent year 2010.

We have been given that since 2010, when 102390 Cases were reported, each year the number of new flu cases decrease to 85% of the prior year.

Since the flu cases decrease to 85% of the prior year, so the flu cases for every next year will be 85% of last year and decay rate is 15%.

We can represent this information in an exponential decay function as:

F(t)=102,390(1-0.15)^t

F(t)=102,390(0.85)^t

To find number of cases in 2020, we will substitute t=10 in our decay function as:

F(10)=102,390(0.85)^{10}

F(10)=102,390(0.1968744043407227)

F(10)=20,157.970260446597\approx 20,158

Therefore, 20,158 cases  will be reported in 2020.

Can someone help me with this question
Tasya [4]
I’m pretty sure you add 78+55= 133
180-133=47
so 9x+2=47
subtract 2 from 47 and itself
so 9x=45
divide 9 and 45 by 9
so x=5

Answer: Choice A

Raising something to the 1/4th power is the same as applying the 4th root to that expression. Raising an expression to the 1/n power is the same as applying the nth root.

Rule:
x^{1/n} = \sqrt[n]{x}
(if the text is too small it basically says x to the (1/n) = square root with a small 'n' all over x)
