<h3>Answer: D.  (2, 21)</h3>

Explanation:

Imagine that your teacher wanted you to find the midpoint of -3 and 7 on the number line. To do this, you would add up the given values and divide by 2.

(-3+7)/2 = 4/2 = 2

The value 2 is right in the middle of -3 and 7 on the number line. This result is also the x coordinate of the midpoint since the values I used were the x coordinates of the original points.

The y coordinates are handled the same way:

(18+24)/2 = 42/2 = 21

The y coordinate of the midpoint is y = 21

Overall, the midpoint is (2, 21)

Option (d)

midpoint \: of \: the \: two \: points \: = (\frac{x1 + x2}{2}) \: (\frac{y1 + y2}{2})

Let,

(-3,18) be (x1, y1). (7,24) be (x2,y2)

Substitute in this formula we get,

(\frac{ - 3 + 7}{2}) \: (\frac{18 + 24}{2})

(\frac{4}{2}) \: ( \frac{42}{2})

= (2, 21)

is it possible to draw a tringle with 90 Angle and one leg that is 8 centimeters long and one leg that is 6 centimeters long? is
Delvig [45]
Yes it is The hypotenuse  is  10 cms long.
Because its a right angled triangle ( 90 angle)  the hypotenuse will be 10 cms long - it will obey the Pythagoras theorem:-

10^2 = 8^2 + 6^2

There is only one  right angled triangle with these measurements but there are many  of them which have sides in same ratio

for example

3, 4 and 5

9,12 and 15

12, 16 and 20  and so on..

Graph the image of the given triangle after the transformation with the rule (x, y)→(y, x) .
Nadya [2.5K]
See the attached figure. The original triangle is shown in red (triangle ABC). The line of reflection is the blue dashed line. This is the equation y = x. Reflecting triangle ABC over the line y = x results in the purple triangle A'B'C'.

Note how the x and y values swap places.
We have...
point A = (5,1) turn into point A' = (1,5)
point B = (8,1) turn into point B' = (1,8)
point C = (8,6) turn into point B' = (6,8)
The swap occurs because the rule (x,y) --> (y,x) tells this to happen.

The purple triangle is the final answer.
