Answer: the book has 140 pages

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of pages that the book has.

Tyler reads 2/15 of a book on Monday. This means that the number of pages that he read on Monday is 2x/15

He read 1/3 of it on Tuesday. This means that the number of pages that he read on Tuesday is x/3

He read 2/9 of it on Wednesday. This means that the number of pages that he read on Wednesday is 2x/9

The total number of pages read so far is

2x/15 + x/3 + 2x/9 = 72x/90 = 8x/10

The number of pages remaining is

x - 8x/10 = 2x/10

If he read 3/4 of the remainder on Thursday, It means that the number of pages he read on Thursday is

3/4 × 2x/10 = 3x/20

The remaining number of pages is

2x/10 - 3x/20 = x/20

If he still has 14 pages to read on Friday, it means that

x/20 = 14

x = 14 × 20

x = 140

Select the graph of the solution set that would represent the following expression. | x | > 5
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

It would be the first graph because |x| >5 is solved in two cases

The first case you keep everything the same, just get rid of the absolute value bars

x>5

The second case, you need to switch the sign and make the 5 negative

x<-5

When graphing you want to put an open circle on -5, and 5 because when it is < or > you have an open circle,

You then point the arrows going which ever way your sign is going, this is why the -5 is going to the left because the < sign is pointing left, and same with the 5, the arrow is going right because the > sign is pointing right

Hope this helps ;)

Please help I need an answer ASAP !
Mila [183]
Well, 4+1=5, so we need to first find:
150 \div 5 = 30
Ivan gets
30 \times 4 = 120
Tanya gets
30 \times 1 = 30
120 - 30 =  \boxed{90}
