Answer:

Plants are autotrophs, which means they produce their own food. They use the process of photosynthesis to transform water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide into oxygen, and simple sugars that the plant uses as fuel.

2. Tim and Stephanie are devastated when the
saul85 [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Tim and Stephanie are devastated when they find out their newborn son has hemophilia- sex-linked recessive disease. Tim is shocked because he doesn’t have hemophilia, and figured if his son has it he would have gotten it from him. Is Tim correct in his thinking? Explain. Also explain what their genotypes must be in order for neither parents to have the disease but their son does. Create a Punnett square, and indicate the mother's and father's genotype.

First of all, the thinking of Tim is wrong. Hemophilia is X-linked and a male (XY) child always inherits his X chromosome from his mother. Hence, the newborn son of Tim must have inherited the allele for the disease from Stephanie.

Now, neither Tim nor Stephanie showed any symptom of hemophilia. It could only mean that Tim is totally free of the hemophilic allele while Stephanie is a carrier for it. Because a man has just one X chromosome, he can either be totally free of the abnormality or affected by it, no in-between. A woman has two X chromosomes, hence, she can be totally free, a carrier, or affected for the disease. Assuming the allele for hemophilia to be h, Tim's genotype would, therefore, be X^HY while that of his wife would be X^HX^h .

The Punnet's square analysis of the cross between Tim and Stephanie is indicated in the attached image.

Dina is a paleoclimatologist. she wants to review documents to assess climate data for her hometown. which historical documents
lana66690 [7]

Newspaper articles and farmers harvest yield record are the documents should Dina examine in order to assess this climate data.

Among atmospheric scientists is a group known as paleoclimatologists. There were 11,800 workers in this field in 2014, albeit not all of them were climatologists or paleoclimatologists, according to BLS data. With 40% of the workforce, professional, scientific, and technical services was the main employer of atmospheric scientists.

What level of education is required to work as a paleoclimatologist?

Your future work as a paleoclimatologist will involve a lot of biology, physics, and other hard sciences, thus there are lots of degree programs that mix these fields with the environment. Environmental biology and environmental chemistry are two examples of such options.

How far into the past can paleoclimatology take us?

Paleoclimatology makes extensive use of polar ice sheets and ice caps as well as mountain glaciers. Data from ice-coring efforts in the ice caps of Greenland and Antarctica date back over 800,000 years in the case of the EPICA project, or several hundred thousand years.

Why is paleoclimatology essential and what does it entail?

Our knowledge of Earth's climate depends on the science of paleoclimatology. Scientists can create models to help predict how rising carbon dioxide levels and other changes can affect the climate of Earth in the future as they become more aware of how climates have been influenced in the past.
