Use the y = mx + b to create an equation

*** Note: It will really help to draw my instructions on a blank piece of paper to better understand them.

M = the slope. Baby A: To find the slope, randomly label two points on the graph. For this baby, you can use (4, 21) and and (12, 23). Label the first coordinate's numbers x1, y1. 4 = x1. 21 = y1. Label the second coordinate's numbers x2, y2. 12 = x2. 23 = y2. Once you have labeled your coordinates, you will find the slope. To do this, use the y2-y1/ x2 - x1 equation. Replace the letters with the labeled coordinates, and you have 23 - 21/ 12 - 4. That equals 2/8, which simplifies to 1/4. Now you know the slope for Baby A is 1/4. Replace the m in the equation y = mx + b with 1/4. ((And while the x right next to the m is not part of the slope, it is still part of the equation, so remember to keep it!!!))) Baby A: y = 1/4x + b. Baby B: For Baby B, you may think that you only have one dot, but look to the left side of the screen. You notice that the line touches the y-axis, which technically counts as another coordinate. So now you have two coordinates, (0, 21) and (8, 22). Label the first coordinate as x1, y1. Label the second coordinate as x2, y2. Then, use the y2-y1/ x2-x1 equation. Replace the letters with the numbers, and you get 22-21/ 8-0. That equals 1/8, so you know the slope for Baby B is 1/8. Replace the m with that number, and your new equation is y = 1/8x + b.

B = The y intercept. The y-intercept is the place in which the line touches the y axis, or the vertical line. (the y-intercepts are located on the left side of the screen.) Baby A: If you look to the left side of the screen, you see that Baby A's line touches the y axis, and the coordinate in which they cross is (0,20). Remember: b = the y coordinate on the y-intercept. You won't include the zero in your y = 1/4x + b equation. Simply replace the b with 20 and only 20. Your new equation is y = 1/4x + 20. Since you can't simplify any further, you know your equation for Baby A is y = 1/4x + 20. Baby B: I did happen to use the y-intercept for one of Baby B's coordinates, but it's necessary to use it again to complete the rest of the equation. ((If you can, avoid using the y-intercept as one of the labeled coordinates you use to find the slope.)) If you look at the left side of the screen, you notice Baby B's line touches the y-axis at the coordinate of (0,21). Insert the 21 and the 21 only into your y = 1/8x + b equation. Your final answer for Baby B is y = 1/8x + 21.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the y = mx + b to create an equation

*** Note: It will really help to draw my instructions on a blank piece of paper to better understand them.

M = the slope. Baby A: To find the slope, randomly label two points on the graph. For this baby, you can use (4, 21) and and (12, 23). Label the first coordinate's numbers x1, y1. 4 = x1. 21 = y1. Answer:1.1 ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Φ=55°

Radius=r=4

π=3.14

Area of segment=area of sector - area of triangle

Area of sector=Φ/360 x π x r x r

area of sector=55/360 x 3.14 x 4 x 4

Area of sector=(55x3.14x4x4) ➗ 360

Area of sector=2763.2 ➗ 360

Area of sector=7.7 ft^2

Area of triangle=0.5 x r x r x sinΦ

Area of triangle=0.5 x 4 x 4 x sin55

Area of triangle=0.5 x 4 x 4 x 0.8192

Area of triangle=6.6 ft^2

Area of segment=area of sector - area of triangle

Area of segment=7.7-6.6

Area of segment=1.1 ft^2

How to solve -2(x+3)=8
Shtirlitz [24]
-2(x + 3) = 8

Multiply -2 with x and 3

-2x -6 = 8

Now add 6 to both sides

-2x -6 = 8
+6 +8

-2x = 16

Lastly divide -2 from both sides to find x

-2x = 16
—— —-
-2x -2x

Solve for m 1/C+1/m=1/z
9966 [12]
Answer: " m = zC / (C − z) " .
___________________________________
Explanation:
_________________________
Given: 1/C + 1/m = 1/z ; Solve for "m".

Subtract "1/C" from each side of the equation:
____________________________________
1/C + 1/m − 1/C = 1/z − 1/C ;

to get: 1/m = 1/z − 1/C ;
____________________________________
Now, multiply the ENTIRE EQUATION (both sides); by "(mzC"); to get ride of the fractions:
_________________

mzC {1/m = 1/z − 1/C} ;

to get: zC = mC − mz ;

Factor out an "m" on the "right-hand side" of the equation:

zC = m(C − z) ; Divide EACH side of the equation by "(C − z)" ; to isolate "m" on one side of the equation;

zC / (C − z) = m(C − z) / m ; to get: 24/8 = 3 24

zC/ (C − z) = m ; ↔ m = zC/ (C − z) .
