Which type of surface would most likely be the best reflector of electromagnetic energy?
Len [333]
<span>light colored and smooth surface would most likely be the best reflector of electromagnetic energy.Light, shiny surfaces are the best reflectors of radiation and they will allow the waves to reflect and bounce off rather than absorb. we can consider mirror as the example ,it will only reflect the light energy falling on them and it will not absorb. The darker coloured and rough surfaced substances will definitely absorb some amount of light falling on it. so light coloured smooth or shiny surfaced material would be the best reflector for electromagnetic energy.</span>

Multiple-Concept Example 6 reveiws the principles that play a role in this problem. A nuclear power reactor generates 2.3 x 109
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Answer:

change in mass = 2.41*10^{8}kg

Explanation:

The change in the mass can be computed by using the relation

E=\Delta mc^2\\\Delta m=\frac{E}{c^2}(1)

That is, the energy liberated comes from the mass of the nuclear fuel. The energy generated in one year is

E=Pt=2.3*10^{9}\frac{J}{s}*1 year*\frac{365.25 day}{1 year}*\frac{24h}{1 day}*\frac{3600s}{1h}=7.25*10^{16}J

Hence, by replacing in the equation (1) you have  (c=3*10^{8}m/s)

\Delta m=\frac{7.25*10^{16}J}{3*10^{8}\frac{m}{s}}=2.41*10^{8}kg

HOPE THIS HELPS!!

The mass of Object 2 is double the mass of Object 5. The mass of Object 4 is half of the mass of Object 5 and the mass of Object
SVETLANKA909090 [29]
This is a great problem if you like getting tied up in knots
and making smoke come out of your brain.

I found that it makes the problem a lot easier if I give the objects some
numbers. I'm going to say that the mass of Object 5 is 20 clods.

Let the mass of Mass of Object 5 be 20 clods .

Then . . .

-- The mass of Object 2 is double the mass of Object 5 = 40 clods.

-- The mass of Object 4 is half of the mass of Object 5 = 10 clods.
and
-- the mass of Object 3 is half of the mass of Object 4 = 5 clods.

So now, here are the masses:

Object #1 . . . . . unknown
Object #2 . . . . . 40 clods
Object #3 . . . . . 5 clods
Object #4 . . . . . 10 clods
Object #5 . . . . . 20 clods .

Now let's check out the statements, and see how they stack up:

Choice-A:
Object 3 and Object 5 exert the same gravitational force on Object 1.
Can't be.
Objects #3 and #5 have different masses, so they can't both
exert the same force on the same mass.

Choice-B.
Object 2 and Object 4 exert the same gravitational force on Object 1.
Can't be.
Objects #2 and #4 have different masses, so they can't both
exert the same force on the same mass.

Choice-C.
The gravitational force between Object 1 and Object 2 is greater than
the gravitational force between Object 1 and Object 4.
Yes ! Yay !
Object-2 has more mass than Object-4 has, so it must exert more force on
ANYTHING than Object-4 does, (as long as the distances are the same).

Choice-D.
The gravitational force between Object 1 and Object 3 is greater than the gravitational force between Object 1 and Object 5.
Can't be.
Object-3 has less mass than Object-5 has, so it must exert less force on
ANYTHING than Object-4 does, (as long as the distances are the same).

Conclusion:
If the DISTANCE is the same for all the tests, then Choice-C is
the only one that can be true.

I need to know the right answer to that question
ad-work [718]
The answer is C 8.87*10^4 m/s (it shouldn't be m/s^2 though as velocity is in m/s)

Since you know the acceleration is 12 m/s^2, the initial velocity is 2.39*10^4 m/s and the time (you have to convert to seconds) is 5400 seconds, then you can use the equation

v = vo + at

When you plug in the values you get

v = 2.39*10^4 + 5400*12 . so v = 8.87*10^4 m/s. C is your answer.

Photon Lighting Company determines that the supply and demand functions for its most popular lamp are as follows: S(p) = 400 - 4
torisob [31]

Answer: The correct answer is (C).

Explanation:

Supply function:

S(p)=400-4p+0.00002p^4

Demand function:

D(p)=2800-0.0012p^3

S(p)=D(p), price for which supply is equal to demand:

S(p)=D(p)=400-4p+0.00002p^4=2800-0.0012p^3

After solving this above equation graphically, we will get the values of p.

1) p =96.236

2) p=( -118.258)

We will reject the negative value of p.

So, the value of p that price for which the supply equals the demand is $ 96.236 \approx $96.24. Hence, the correct answer is option (C).
