How does the slope of land or direction of plowing affect how water runs over the land?

Biology

Explanation:

At one end of a contour the slope of the land will always be steeper than at the other. Thus when plowing parallel runs paralleling any contour the plow furrows soon deviate from a true contour. Rain water in these furrows will thus flow sideways along the falling "contour" line.

In C3 plants the conservation of water promotes_______.a. photorespiration. b. a shift to C4.c. photosynthesis.d. the opening of
ankoles [38]

Answer:

A) photorespiration.

Explanation:

Photorespiration is the harmful metabolic process which takes place when the concentration of oxygen in the leaf increases compared to carbon dioxide.

The RUBISCO enzyme which usually binds the carbon dioxide now binds the oxygen and form the phosphoglycolate and 3 phosphoglycerate. The phosphoglycolate is lost through the Calvin cycle as Carbon dioxide molecule. This loss proves harmful to the plants.

The photorespiration occurs when the plant faces high temperature therefore n order to prevent water loss the stomata gets closed. This result in the binding of the oxygen to the RUBISCO and thus photorespiration begins.

Thus, Option-A is correct.

A plastic bottle contains 32.5 L of gas at a pressure of 45.7 kPa and
Monica [59]

Answer:

Final pressure, P2 = 362.26 kPa

Explanation:

Given the following data;

Initial volume = 32.5 Liters

Initial pressure = 45.7 kPa

Final volume = 4.1 Liters

To find the final pressure, we would use Boyle's law;

Boyles states that when the temperature of an ideal gas is kept constant, the pressure of the gas is inversely proportional to the volume occupied by the gas.

Mathematically, Boyles law is given by;

PV = K

P_{1}V_{1} = P_{2}V_{2}

Substituting into the equation, we have;

45.7 * 32.5 = P_{2} * 4.1

1485.25 = 4.1P_{2}

P_{2} = \frac {1485.25}{4.1}

P_{2} = 362.26

Final pressure, P2 = 362.26 kPa
