  • Use Brady's reagent or sodium nitrate.
  • Heptanol will remain unchanged in color
  • But Heotanal will be turned to slightly orange color

  • Heptanol means it's a alcohol.(C_7H_15OH)
  • Heotanal means it's a aldehyde

Why does every chemical reaction require a certain amount of activation energy
attashe74 [19]

Every chemical reaction requires a minimum amount of energy to undergo reaction.

The total energy required is Threshold energy. The chemicals have some internal energy and they require some extra energy which is known as activation energy.

The reaction occurs when two molecules or atoms come closer to each other and for this they need kinetic energy.

Now for an effective collision the two molecules or atoms should collide with a minimum amount of energy so that they may undergo reaction so again they need some energy

These kinetic energy and energy for effective collision is actually called as activation energy.

One crystalline form of silica (SiO2) has a cubic unit cell, and from X-ray diffraction data it is known that the cell edge leng
Sav [38]

Answer:

8 Silicon atom are present in unit cell.

16 oxygen atoms are present unit cell.

Explanation:

Number of atoms in unit cell = Z =?

Density of silica = tex]2.32 g/cm^3[/tex]

Edge length of cubic unit cell = a  = 0.700 nm = 0.700\times 10^{-7} cm

1 nm=10^{-7} cm

Molar mass of Silica  = 28.09 g/mol+16.00\times 2=60.09 g/mol

Formula used :

\rho=\frac{Z\times M}{N_{A}\times a^{3}}

where,

\rho = density

Z = number of atom in unit cell

M = atomic mass

(N_{A}) = Avogadro's number

a = edge length of unit cell

On substituting all the given values , we will get the value of 'a'.

2.32 g/cm3=\frac{Z\times 60.09 g/mol}{6.022\times 10^{23} mol^{-1}\times (0.700\times 10^{-7}cm)^{3}}

Z = 8

1 silicon is 2 oxygen atoms. then 8 silicon atoms will be 16 oxygen atoms.

The active ingredient in aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid (MW = 180.2 g/mol). An aspirin tablet was dissolved in
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

1214 mg

Explanation:

Data given

Volume of NaOH solution (V) = 14.85 mL

Molarity of NaOH solution (M) = 0.100 M NaOH.

Amount of acetylsalicylic acid = ?

Molecular weight = 180.2 g/mol

Solution:

It is a acid base titration

As equal amount of NaOH will neutralize equal amount of acetylsalicylic acid.

First find the moles of NaOH

As we know

                 M = moles of solute / 1 L x volume of solution

Rearrange and modify the above equation

                 moles of NaOH = M of NaOH x 1 L / volume of NaOH solution

Put values in above equation

                moles of NaOH = 0.100 M x 1 L / 14.85 mL

                moles of NaOH = 0.0067 moles

Now find to find the weight of acetylsalicylic acid

As

equal amount of NaOH will neutralize equal amount of acetylsalicylic acid.

                 moles of acetylsalicylic acid =  moles of NaOH.......... (1)

As we know

                  no. of moles = mass in g / molar mass

So,

The modified form of equation 1 will be

              mass in g / molar mass (acetylsalicylic acid) =  moles of NaOH

Put values in above equation

                  mass in g / 180.2 g/mol = 0.0067 moles

Rearrange the above equation

                mass of acetylsalicylic acid = 0.0067 moles x 180.2 g/mol

                 mass of acetylsalicylic acid = 1.214 g

Convert the grams to milligrams

1 g = 1000 milligram

So,

1.214 g = 1214 mg
