This is cross multipication.  Multiply 117 times 36 together for that you would use a calculator. You get 4221. Next step is to multiply x and 12 together that would be 12x.

4221= 12x

Divide  by 12 on both sides:

x= 351

351 is # of trouts in the lake .

The price of a pair of jeans is $30. The original price of the jeans was $45. What was the percent discount?
Juliette [100K]

Answer:

33% discount

Step-by-step explanation:

15$ is the amount that was taken off so now we just need to convert it to a % of 45

45/100 = 30/?

if you do cross multiplication and multiply 30 * 100 then divide the result (3000) by 45 you get 66

This means that 30$ is 66% of 45. To find the discount you just subtract 66% (this represents your 30$ new price) from 100% (this represents the 45% original price) and you get 33%.

RR3-03 A posted speed limit of 55 mph means (Select the one BEST answer from the choices provided.) 8-2/43
Illusion [34]

A posted speed limit of 55 mph means that: You may drive 55 mph only under favorable conditions.

<h3>What is the speed limit?</h3>

Speed limits on road traffic, as used basically to set the legal maximum speed at which vehicles are permitted to utilize on a given stretch of road.

Now generally, speed limits are normally indicated on traffic signs reflecting the maximum allowable speed in kilometers per hour (km/h) or eevn miles per hour (mph). They are primarily set by the legislative bodies of national or provincial governments and then enforced by law enforcement agencies. This suggests that speed limits varies from road to road and is even absent in some certain areas.

Now, in this question we are told that the posted speed limit is 55 mph. Thus, from our definitions of speed limits above it is clear that A posted speed limit of 55 mph means that: You may drive 55 mph only under favorable conditions.

So.. take a peek at the picture... let's get two points from it, hmm say 0,4 notice it touches the y-axis there, and say hmmm -4, 1, almost at the bottom of the line

\bf \begin{array}{lllll}&#10;&x_1&y_1&x_2&y_2\\&#10;%   (a,b)&#10;&({{ 0}}\quad ,&{{ 4}})\quad &#10;%   (c,d)&#10;&({{ -4}}\quad ,&{{ 1}})&#10;\end{array}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;% slope  = m&#10;slope = {{ m}}= \cfrac{rise}{run} \implies &#10;\cfrac{{{ y_2}}-{{ y_1}}}{{{ x_2}}-{{ x_1}}}\implies \cfrac{1-4}{-4-0}

\bf y-{{ y_1}}={{ m}}(x-{{ x_1}})\qquad &#10;\begin{array}{llll}&#10;\textit{plug in the values for }&#10;\begin{cases}&#10;y_1=4\\&#10;x_1=0\\&#10;m=\boxed{?}&#10;\end{cases}\\&#10;\textit{and solve for "y"}&#10;\end{array}\\&#10;\left. \qquad   \right. \uparrow\\&#10;\textit{point-slope form}

once you get the slope and solve for "y", that'd be the equation of the line.
