Read the following thesis statement: Truman's decision to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki prior to the end of World

War II had more to do with the United States' rivalry with the Soviet Union, than it did with ending the war with Japan.  Of the sources listed below, choose the 2 that support the thesis statement above.
A) "There are voices which assert that the bomb should never have been used at all. I cannot associate myself with such ideas...I am surprised that very worthy people...should adopt the position that rather than throw this bomb, we should have sacrificed a million American and a quarter of a million British lives...."

B) "I realized that [Stalin and Churchill] were talking about research on the atomic bomb. It was clear already then that the U.S. government intended to use the atomic weapon for the purpose of achieving its imperialist goals...in the 'cold war'...Without any military need whatsoever, the Americans dropped two atomic bombs on the peaceful and densely-populated Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

C) "The use of (the atomic bombs) at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender because of the effective sea blockade and the successful bombing with conventional weapons...."

D) "The use of (the atomic bombs) at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender because of the effective sea blockade and the successful bombing with conventional weapons...."

The schism between the Eastern and Western Churches was provoked by Select one:
balu736 [363]

Answer:

The right answer is:

d. linguistic, theological, and cultural differences.

Explanation:

In 1054 AD, the year of the schism of Christianity, many differences and contradictions had accumulated. The theology of the Eastern Church was based on Greek philosophy, while the Roman Church´s theology was based on Roman law. Here was a source of misunderstandings, particularly around a fundamental doctrine: the emanation of the Holy Spirit from the Father. The Orthodox Church also questioned the enforcement of celibacy by Rome, the exclusive right of bishops to administer confirmations and the presence of unleavened bread in the Eucharist. Political rivalries and interests also played a role in this division that continues until today.
