19. Distributive property is multiplying everything outside of the parenthesis by everything in them!

Let's do it

2(3x + 4y)

We will multiply 2 by 3x and 2 by 4y

2 × 3x + 2 × 4y = ?

6x + 8y

20. Solving algebraically is using multiplication and division, addition and subtraction!

5h = 25

divide 25 by 5 to find h

h = 25/5

h = 5

2 + c = 12

subtract 2 from both sides

2 + c - 2 = 12 - 2

c = 12 -2

c = 10

3y + 10 = 40

We need to do subtraction and division for this one!

Let's subtract 10 from both sides

3y + 10 -10 = 40 - 10

3y = 30

Divide 30 by 3 to find y

y = 30/3

y = 10

CAN't SOLVE #21 BECAUSE OF LACK OF INFO

22. To find equivalent ratios, let's simplify them!

To simplify ratios, we need to find the highest common factors

a. 2:6

The highest common factor between 2 and 6 is 2, so let's divide both sides by 2

We get ... 1 : 3

b. The highest common factor between 12 and 30 is 6, so let's divide both sides by 6

We get ... 2 : 5

23. To find how many songs are played during a certain amount of time, all we need to do is multiply 12 (the amount of songs played in 1 hour) by however many hours they say!

This can be expressed like this

a. # of songs = 12 × h

Now let's use this expression to answer the next two parts of this question!

b. to find the "# of songs" played in 24 hours, all we need to do is multiply 12 by 24! 24 will be the "h" in our expression. h is the number of hours

Here's what it looks like using our expression we made

# of songs = 12 ( 24)

Solve using a calculator

# of songs = 288

c. To find how many hours it will take to play 60 songs, we will put it in place of the LEFT SIDE of the equation that says "# of songs"

Let's solve it now!

It looks like this ... 60 = 12h

Let's divide to find the number of hours!

60/12 = h

60/12 = 5

It will take 5 hours to play 60 songs!

What can I learn in finding the sum of consecutive numbers?
Helga [31]

Answer:

By using Carl Gauss's clever formula, (n / 2)(first number + last number) = sum, where n is the number of integers, we learned how to add consecutive numbers quickly. We now know that the sum of the pairs in consecutive numbers starting with the first and last numbers is equal.

How do I solve part b and c
OLEGan [10]

Answer:

part a: 52%

part b: 0.4

part c: 0.24

Step-by-step explanation:

For part one, you find the frequency of the number of people that are less that 20. You add the number of tics in each bar and you divide by the total.

so for part a it is (7+6+9+4)/ (7+6+9+4+4+12+8)

for part b you add up the values that are greater than 25(less than 35)

(12+8)/total

part c you find the number of people between 25 and 30

that's 12

over total

12/total

A ticket printer made 450 tickets in 9 minutes. Another ticket printer made tickets for 5 minutes at twice the rate of the first
OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

500

Step-by-step explanation:

Rate at which first ticket printer works is 450/9 = 50 tickets per minute

Speed of second ticket printer is twice than that of the first.

So, speed of second printer is 100 tickets per minute.

In 5 minutes,second printer made 500 tickets
