Read the excerpt from "Meeting Julia." She looked a lot different than I had expected, but she was the same talkative, creative,

fun person I had always known her to be. We talked a lot, laughed a lot, and after meeting, we went horseback riding together. It was one of the best days of my life. Which significant event is described in this excerpt? Julia attends the narrator's Bat Mitzvah. The narrator and Julia finally meet. The narrator rides a horse for the first time. Julia and the narrator become pen pals.

How does the movie begin? How is this different from how the book begins? hunger games
lions [1.4K]

Answer:

First question: Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games: a televised competition in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight to the death.

Second question: The Hunger Games begins on the day of the reaping in District 12. Katniss Everdeen, the story's 16-year-old narrator, sets out to meet her friend Gale so they can do some hunting and gathering before the reaping that afternoon. As Katniss makes her way from her home to the Meadow and, finally, to the woods, where people of the district are forbidden to go, we learn about Katniss' life in the impoverished part of her district, the Seam, and her family. She thinks about her sister Prim, who is 4 years younger, and her mother, both of whom have depended upon Katniss for survival ever since Katniss' father died in a mine explosion when she was 11.

Third question: The book is written in the first-person perspective of Katniss Everdeen. On-screen, however, several changes were made to how the story is revealed, rather than using voice-overs or other first-person conventions.

How are the themes of "The Colored Soldiers" and "War Is Kind" different?
Degger [83]

War is kind is definitely all about a war. The title is an irony what really a war is. The real thing is that war is very unkind and is happening always because there people who send soldiers to wars not thinking about their deaths. On the other hand, The Colored soldiers is a poem to praise black men who served the Army during the civil war. These soldiers fight for freedom from slavery even though they know the risks of their actions and that it may cause them harm.
