A marine biologist and her team capture 56 sea turtles and mark them before releasing them. The following year, they capture 45

sea turtles at the same location. Of the 45 sea
turtles, only 20 have the mark from the prior year. What is the estimated population of sea turtles for that location?

Answer:

It would be 126(B)

Explanation:

because the "equation" to solve this problem would be to multiply 56 and 45 then with that total divide by 20.

It's the mark- return-recapture method. Ecologists use it to calculate the estimated population of biodiversity

also I did the test and it was right!

Animals require certain amino acids on their diet, an amino acid that is referred to as nonessential would be best described as
Ket [755]
The answer is 2 can be made by the animal's body from other substances.

Both essential and nonessential amino acids have essential roles in the organism. Nonessential amino acids got their name because they are not an essential part of the diet. The main difference between these two groups of amino acid is that essential amino acids cannot be made by the animal's body and must be ingested in the diet unlike the nonessential amino acid which can be made by the animal's body.

Crawfish are shelled organisms that live in shallow freshwater rivers. They can have antennae of different lengths. Two parents
vredina [299]

The phenotype of antenna in crawfish depends on the protein amount in the antenna length. The offspring have different phenotype than their parent because of the amount of protein translated from each parent gene is determining in this.

The gene determines the amount of protein to be present in the antenna to determine its length.

Explanation:

Data given:

Two crawfish parent = medium length antennae, genotyoe Ll

One offspring = short antenna, genotype ll

one offspring = long antennae, genotype LL

The traits in offspring is shown as:

       L l

L LL Ll

l Ll ll

The proportion of allele present in the gene determined the length of the antenna in crawfish.

The difference in length of the antenna in crawfish is due to the amount of protein for the phenotype present in the individual. The amount of protein to be expressed in the crawfish is given by both the parents. The tendency of protein expresed define the phenotype of antenna length.

Given the inefficiency of two of the pathways shown in Figure 2-4, what advantage could
grandymaker [24]
I’m assuming this entire thing is cellular respiration. pathway a most likely represents alcoholic fermentation, B represent lactic acidosis fermentation, C probably represents aerobic cellular respiration. Alcoholic fermentation doesn’t occur in humans, it occurs in micro bacteria and yeast. Lactic acidosis fermentation occurs in humans when there is not oxygen. That’s why you breathe so heavily after sprinting. Cellular respiration just happens naturally. Idk if that’s what the question is asking so feel free to comment and if this helped, brain answer?
