The inequalities which the number lines represent are as follows;

  • x > 3
  • x <= 2.

While writing inequalities represented on a number line;

We must observe the direction of the line; and also observe the shading on the starting point of the line.

In case 1:

  • The set of x values are represented as greater than 3;

  • Therefore, the inequality is; x > 3

In case 2:

  • The set of value are represented as less or equal to 2;

  • Therefore, the inequality is; x <= 2

The number line to represent the street sign is as in the attached image;

A student theatre charges $9.50 per ticket. The theater has already sold 70 tickets. Write and solve an inequality that represen
Leona [35]
To make the inequality, we will use the ≥ sign to determine how many more tickets we will need. Before we write the inequality, let's see how much money was already made by the present tickets. 70 x 9.50 = $665.
We can write the inequality as $665 + $9.50t ≥ $1000 where t is the number of tickets sold. Now we can solve
$665 + $9.50t ≥ $1000, subtract 665
$9.50t ≥ $335. Now isolate the t by divide 9.50 to both sides
t ≥ 35.26 which we can round up to 36 because you cant sell 35.26 tickets.
So you need at least 36 more tickets to earn at least $1000

What is Qualitative Data and what is the discreate and Continuous in qualitative data?
boyakko [2]

Answer:

Qualitative data is the data that is not represented by numbers, for example, favorite food or country.

On the other hand, the quantitative data is represented by numbers and it is classified as discrete and continuous. The discrete data is the data that only can take specific values, for example, the number of people is always a whole number, there can't be 5.5 people. The continuous data is the data that can take decimal values, for example, the mass of an object can be 4.06 kg.

Three fair coins are tossed. If all land "heads," the player wins $10, and if exactly two land heads, the player wins $5. If it
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

<u>After four games, a player can lose up to $ 16 to win up to $ 26. These are the probabilities for every game:</u>

<u>1/8 or 12.5% of landing three "heads"</u>

<u>3/8 or 37.5% of landing two "heads"</u>

<u>4/8 or 50% of landing no or only one "head".</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information given to us to answer the question correctly:

If three coins land "heads" the player wins $ 10

If two coins land "heads" the player wins $ 5

Cost of playing = $ 4

2.  What is the player's expected outcome after four games?

Probability of two coins out of three lands "heads" = 3/8

Probability of three coins out of three lands "heads" = 1/8

Now, let's calculate the player's expected outcome, as follows:

Four games:

Cost = 4 * 4 = $ 16

Worst-case scenario: No wins

Best-case scenario: 4 out of 4 of $ 10 win

Worst-case scenario profit or loss = 0 - 16 = Loss of $ 16

Best-case scenario profit or loss = 40 - 16 = Profit of $ 24

After four games, a player can lose up to $ 16 to win up to $ 26. These are the probabilities for every game:

1/8 or 12.5% of landing three "heads"

3/8 or 37.5% of landing two "heads"

4/8 or 50% of landing no or only one "head".

How to do question 4?
Nutka1998 [239]
Marie states that any integer greater than 4 will always get an even number of factors.

This can be proven wrong by (for example) 12.

12 has these factors:

1 x 12
2 x 6
3 x 4

12 has an ODD number of factor pairs.

Another example is 28.

28:
1 x 28
2 x 14
4 x 7

28 has an odd number of factor pairs.

I hope this helps!
