The great depression was not caused by the dustbowl.

The Great Depression

The great depression was a period of great economic melt down in the United States of America.

The stock market crash was one of the leading causes of this. The issue was so severe that:

 • banks closed.
 • People were displaced.
 • There was lots of unemployment.
 • People became poor and hungry.

The dust bowl on the other hand happened in the 1930s unlike the depression of the 1920s.

Why did the Cherokee Nation believe it could win its case in the United States Supreme Court
strojnjashka [21]
They wanted to exploit a loophole in american politics. Before them, the other Native people who ceded their lands had first been recognized as nations and then when the territory became their legally, they would give it away in deals with the American government. The Cherokee thus declared themselves to be a sovereign nation and not to give the land, which is why they took the case to the supreme court in order to be protected.
