Natasha_Volkova [10]

Difference between the mean of the data, including the outlier and excluding the outlier is;

B: 0.93

Mean average

Her time in minutes for the given months are;

 • January = 41.55 minutes
 • July = 36. 38 minutes
 • Feb = 42.51 minutes
 • Aug = 38.48 minutes
 • Mar = 43. 01 minutes
 • Sept = 41.87 minutes
 • Apr = 39. 76 minutes
 • Oct = 51.32 minutes
 • May = 37. 32 minutes
 • Nov = 42.59 minutes
 • June = 35.28 minutes
 • Dec = 43.71 minutes

Looking at all the numbers, they largely range from 36 to 44 which means that the outlier is 51.32

Total number of minutes with outlier = 493.78 minutes

Number of months = 12

Thus;

Mean with outlier = 493.78/12

Mean with outlier = 41.15 minutes

Mean without outlier = (493.78 - 51.32)/(12 - 1)

Mean without outlier = 40.22 minutes

Thus;

Difference in both means = 41.15 - 40.22

Difference = 0.93

Calculate the time, in milliseconds, that it would take for 99 percent of the original cyclobutane at 1270k to decompose.
crimeas [40]

Answer:

(i) The order of decomposition reaction of cyclobutane is first order.

(ii) It requires 53.15 milliseconds for 99% decomposition of cyclobutane.

(d) Rate law = k [\rm Cl_2Cl

2

, as chlorine is the reactant.

(e) Thus student claim is false as Chlorine gas is the reactant, not a catalyst.

(i) The order of reaction can be determined with the help of a graph given below. The graph depicts the reduction in the concentration of cyclobutane with time depicting decomposition.

The graph depicts the reaction to be of first-order kinetics. The general concentration expression can be:

\rm C_(_t_)\;=\;C_(_0_)\;e^-^k^t

Where, \rm C_(_t_) = concentration at time t

\rm C_(_0_) = initial concentration 1.60 mol/liter

k = rate constant

for first order reaction,

k = In \rm \frac{2}{Half\;time}

Halftime

2

From the graph, half time = 0.008 sec i.e. time when the concentration reduced to 50%.

k = In \rm \frac{2}{0.008}

0.008

2

k = 86.64 / sec.

(ii) The time required for 99% decomposition can be calculated, by calculating the \rm C_(_t_) for left 1 % solution.

0.01 \rm C_(_0_) = \rm e^-^k^t

-kt = -4.605

t = 53.15 miliseconds

(d) The rate law is obtained against the reaction.

In rate law, the intermediates that appear in the reaction are removed, and the equation has been formed.

The slow step is the formation of Chlorine. Thus the rate law will be:

Rate = k [\rm Cl_2Cl

2

(e) The catalyst function in improvising the rate of the reaction. Since, the reaction has chlorine as the part of the reactant, it is consumed in the reaction and thus does not act as a catalyst. Thus the claim of the student is false.

What is montaigne’s view of human nature versus modern civilization? how does he use the concepts of barbarism, wildness, and bl
steposvetlana [31]

Montaigne’s view of human nature versus modern civilization, the difference between Montaigne's thinking and also the reality of the soul in modern civilization is that Montaigne postulated that the humans are creatures who cannot control themselves and their environment, con to the current idea, in modern civilization there's a longtime concept of an autonomous man.

He begins by saying that we as humans are put together by many alternative pieces are consistent. This, he believes may be a down fall in mankind because it implies that everything is randomized.

In his essay, Montaigne glorifies nature, destitute of human artifice, and everything natural.

Montaigne points out that can't even control the planet that they're living in. Montaigne points out that other creatures like animals could also be superior to humans thanks to the thought that every one humans are the beasts. it's vital to notice that each one the views held by Montaigne were meant to be little the importance of a person and to portray his inferiority within the universe. Additionally, these views imply that a person doesn't have the authority to require control over other creatures because they're more superior to him.

Barbarism is for Montaigne a troubling term, specifically considering that it is too easy for civilized man to condemn the customs of barbarians, who live lives more natural, and therefore more beautiful, than civilized man. Even he said that no society is likely to improve itself by declaring other societies inadequate, particularly if the standard of judgement is dissimilarity of custom rather than reason.
